SACRED PRAYER RUN TO THE HOPI LANDS

Atlachinolli Fire-Water Ceremonial Run July 7th through July 29th, 2007 Last year a group of forty Hopi ran a Sacred Run from their homeland in Arizona to Mexico City the heart of the Aztec Nation. Carrying water from their Sacred springs they brought forth a prayer for the whole world, and a statement of the need and importance to respect and preserve the Water element to insure our children a future. Now in return the Aztec people will run 1,800 miles to Hopi Land carrying their Sacred Fire. The bringing together of the Water and the Fire represents the Prayer they will carry of New Life for All People. The significance of these runs between the peoples of North and South America is a response to the prophecies and a recognition of the need to rebuild the Confederacy of the Eagle and Condor for the benefit of all beings. The runners could use your help. They are still in need of donations to cover the costs of food and support vehicles during the run as well as running shoes. To donate directly, please go online and pledge a donation via credit card: Donate Now Also, please send your prayers and moral support to the fulfillment of the dream to unify native peoples in protection of Mother Earth. more

Welcome to GAYA!

Global Alliance of Youth and Adults in Action

Our mission is to unite youth leaders locally and internationally, giving them a global voice to express their concerns, their inspirations, and to create solutions to address the state of the planet they are inheriting. We empower youth by giving them the skills and the tools to create and implement a sustainable vision for the Earth through restoration projects, preserving traditional cultures, bringing green techniques into a living practice, and by deepening their connection with themselves and the natural world.

Philosophy

GAYA recognizes the Earth as intelligent consciousness; a sacred living being that is vibrant, responsive, and interactive. GAYA believes that in order for humanity to not only survive but to evolve, we need to reclaim our profound and inherent relationship within the complexities of the natural world.

GAYA recognizes that every culture has a wisdom and knowledge that compliments the whole of humanity. Bound within Indigenous cosmologies are expansive pathways that illuminate the beauty and intelligence of the natural world, as well as practical ecological knowledge that can be blended with the ethical and sustainable sciences of today.

GAYA respects youth as sources of vision, creative intelligence, and a vital part of our communities. GAYA serves the desire of young people to creatively express their individual talents, to be empowered to direct their personal future, participate more fully in the co-creation of our global society, and create more profound and meaningful experiences in their lives.

GAYA recognizes and serves the understanding that we as individuals have tremendous power in influencing the world around us. Through our thoughts, intentions, choices, and actions we have the power to revision, remake, and rebalance our world-- to live a beautiful existence.
