The Need for GAYA Projects

It is obvious that the human race faces both crisis and opportunities of unprecedented proportions. We have inherited the power to destroy life as we know it, or to co-create a world of immeasurable possibilities for all people. Young people growing up at this time are faced with the facts that the quality of life is being greatly diminished. They are bombarded through the media with images of war and destruction. Consumerism, glamour, and greed are the underlying themes of the advertising industry, leading our youth down a path of self-destruction and separation from the sacredness of life. Schools are becoming a breeding ground for drugs and violence with teen-age pregnancy, drop-outs and suicide rising at very alarming rates.

The fundamental problem that humanity faces is the illusion that we are separate from each other, from nature, and from our source. The environmental, global and economic crises are stimulating us to recognize, that what we do unto others, we do in fact unto ourselves; that we are members of one body, one Earth, one global family.
